Soon, customers in Dubai will have the option to use WhatsApp to directly complain to retailers, with a prompt resolution procedure in place. The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET)'s Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade (DCCPFT) will launch this project next month.
The platform will leverage artificial intelligence to streamline the complaint procedure, according to Ahmad Ali Moosa, Director of DCCPFT's Consumer Protection Department. After uploading pertinent documents and responding to a few questions regarding their purchases or disputes, customers will promptly receive a resolution letter on DET letterhead.
Customers must submit necessary documents, such as invoices, to back up their claims for the procedure to be considered legitimate. Ahmad emphasized the significance of filing accurate contracts and invoices. Complaints won't be handled without these documents.
The WhatsApp service will provide a more easy and accessible means of contacting the Consumer Protection Department, even if consumers can still file complaints via the department's website and phone center number 600545555.
