Coca-Cola Arena would serve as the team's home venue of the newly formed sports franchise – Dubai Basketball

Dubai Basketball, a newly formed sports franchise, has announced an exclusive collaboration with Coca-Cola Arena, under which the Arena would serve as the team's home venue.

The official anchor tenant of the Coca-Cola Arena will be Dubai's first sports franchise team, under the milestone agreement. The deal opens the door for Dubai to host professional basketball games on a global scale.

Dubai Basketball's owner and chairman, Abdulla Saeed Al Naboodah, envisions the team competing in the highest league in the world, the EuroLeague. Starting with the 16-team ABA (Adriatic) League, the club will embark on a journey that will bring European talents to the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai through a series of events.

Dubai Basketball will take on some of the best teams in Europe, including KK Crvena Zvezda and Partizan, who won the title last month after defeating Partizan in the final.

The ABA League is scheduled to open for play in September 2024. Later this month, the Dubai Basketball official website will launch a comprehensive calendar of games along with other details on the team, tickets, and souvenirs.

The collaboration between Coca-Cola Arena and Dubai Basketball demonstrates a dedication to make substantial strides in improving the basketball scene in Dubai, encouraging community involvement, and advancing a sports culture throughout the Middle East.

In addition to creating a brand for a long-lasting fan relationship, Dubai Basketball hopes to gain traction in the EuroLeague by participating in the ABA League 2024–25 season. It will strengthen its worldwide profile by hosting events like the Sports Business Summit and the EuroLeague SuperCup.

In addition to participating in international basketball leagues, Dubai Basketball seeks to advance both the sport and its fan base in the area. The company aims to create a basketball culture in Dubai and attract enough interest to establish a loyal following. In addition, the group intends to build a cutting-edge training facility, establish a club organisation inside the emirate, and support young teams.

With an eye towards a future partnership with the EuroLeague, Dubai Basketball is also establishing the groundwork for a youth programme. This entails setting up a club hierarchy, making sure all obligations and requirements set forth by EuroLeague are met, and being ready to introduce the league's flagship initiative, the Regional League.
