Central Bank of the UAE issued a new banknote of Dh1,000 denomination made of polymer

NewsA new polymer banknote with a Dh1,000 value has been released by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) for market use. Beginning on April 10, 2023, banks and exchange houses will start to sell the new notes.
The CBUAE wanted to emphasise the UAE's success narrative in the design of the new banknote by incorporating pictures and cultural and development symbols that symbolise the country's groundbreaking international accomplishments, which have helped it rise to the status of a developed nation in record time. The new banknote's aesthetic captures the aspirations and vision for the future that the UAE has as a pioneer in space exploration.
In addition to the fluorescent blue marks of the UAE brand in the centre and the drawings and inscriptions produced using sophisticated intaglio printing techniques, this banknote's distinguishing aesthetic feature is the use of various shades of brown, which preserves the colours of the same denomination banknote currently in circulation and makes it easier for the public to identify.
Inspired by his encounter with Nasa pioneers in 1974, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is pictured on the front of the new currency next to a mockup of a space shuttle.
The Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in Abu Dhabi, which will be crucial in the nation's effort to diversify its energy sources and cut carbon emissions, is depicted on the back of the new currency.
