All public parking around Muwaileh commercial area in Sharjah is now subject to charges throughout the week

The Muwaileh commercial area in Sharjah has implemented charges for all public parking throughout the week, including public holidays, in order to handle the enormous demand for parking spots in this important residential and commercial sector.

The Public Parking Management of Sharjah Municipality has put up blue directing signs all over the place to let cars know about the new hours and costs. The town has implemented smart parking cars that are meant to monitor and punish vehicles that either don't pay the proper fees or go over the allotted ten-minute grace period in order to guarantee that parking spaces are used efficiently.

The penalty are Dh100 for parking for longer than the allotted amount of time without paying and Dh150 for not paying the costs.

Muwaileh's mix of residential and business activities has resulted in increasing traffic from both residents and visitors, prompting the implementation of paid parking throughout the week.

Parking lots with yellow signs indicate that entry is charged, while Fridays and public holidays may offer free parking. Conversely, blue signs state: "Parking subject to fees throughout the week and public holidays," indicating that parking is always available for a price at certain hours, including on holidays.

The Sharjah Municipality website makes it easy for residents to online purchase parking permits. The Sharjah Digital app, SMS services, and well-known mobile payment methods like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay may all be used to pay for these services.

Parking users are divided into two categories by the municipality: those who need short-term parking, which lasts between one and two hours, and those who need long-term parking because they live or work there.

Short-term parking can be scheduled using SMS, the Sharjah Digital app, or at parking charge machines that accept small amounts of money. Seasonal subscription permits, which cost Dh166 per month or Dh1,700 annually for two zones inside the emirate, are available electronically for long-term usage.
