Ajman taxi fleet is 100 percent environment friendly, reducing fuel consumption and lowering carbon emissions

All of the Ajman taxi fleet becomes 100% eco-friendly. With 2,274 eco-friendly taxis in the fleet, the number of trips driven by them has surpassed 8.5 million. Intending to cut fuel consumption and carbon emissions, these cars come in a variety of gas-powered, electric, and hybrid variants. 

This important milestone for the transport authority fits into its overall plan for environmental conservation and sustainability.

Ajman's transport authority's director general, Omar Mohammed Lootah, stated that meticulous planning and consistent work ethic helped the organisation accomplish its target ahead of schedule. To encourage cab operators to participate in this effort, he said the authorities offered them all kinds of help.

When hybrid cars hit the emirate's taxi industry in 2015, the authority was a trailblazer in the use of contemporary eco-friendly technologies. Using eco-friendly cars was promoted and advocated for the taxi industry.
