Ajman Police Announces Significant 50% Cut on Traffic Violations Fines

Ajman Police announced a 50 percent discount on traffic fines from November 4 to December 15, 2024. This promotion applies to all violations committed in Ajman before October 31, 2024. The news was shared via a post on the social media platform X, encouraging residents to take advantage of this opportunity to reduce their outstanding fines.

The authority clarified that the discount does not apply to "aggravated fines." Additionally, on October 1, 26 locations in Ajman were designated for the installation of electronic gates aimed at capturing traffic violators. This initiative is part of a smart monitoring system that was launched on the same date to enhance traffic enforcement and safety in the emirate.

This advanced AI-driven technology employs intelligent surveillance through high-definition cameras to identify traffic violations, including texting while driving and the failure to use seat belts. By leveraging real-time data analysis, the system seeks to improve road safety, aiming to minimize accidents and protect both motorists and pedestrians. With its proactive approach, this smart monitoring solution contributes significantly to safer driving environments and encourages compliance with traffic regulations.

The agency asserts that the implementation of automated violation detection systems plays a crucial role in enhancing traffic safety by preventing the risks associated with operating a vehicle with an expired license. By utilizing advanced technology to monitor compliance, the system not only identifies infractions but also fosters responsible driving behavior. This proactive approach aims to mitigate potential hazards on the road and ensure a safer driving environment for all users.

Ajman Police has called on all road users to strictly follow traffic laws and regulations. Engaging with mobile devices or other distractions while behind the wheel can result in a fine of Dh400 and the addition of four black points to one's driving license, as stipulated by federal legislation. This warning emphasizes the importance of maintaining focus while driving to ensure safety on the roads.

According to the law, it is mandatory for every passenger in a vehicle, including those seated in the rear, to wear seat belts. If this rule is violated, the driver will incur a fine of Dh400 and receive four black points on their driving license. This regulation aims to enhance safety for all individuals in the vehicle and reinforces the responsibility of the driver to ensure compliance among all passengers.
