Airport authorities announce restrictions for non-passengers due to summer vacation travel rush

As Dubai International (DXB) prepares for the summer holiday travel crunch from July 6 to 17, airport officials have announced additional limitations for non-passengers. In the United Arab Emirates, July and August are the busiest travel months for families since schools are closed during that time.

During busy hours, access to the terminals will only be granted to passengers. When handing off travellers at the airport, officials recommended that they say goodbye to each other at home.

Furthermore, the arrivals forecourts at Terminals 1 and 3 are only accessible by licenced airport vehicles and public transportation.

From July 6 to July 17, DXB will experience a "significant increase" of traffic; 3.3 million passengers are expected to arrive and leave through its terminals during that time. It is anticipated that 914,000 passengers will depart from DXB during this time.

The biggest weekend, July 12–14, is expected to have the highest traffic volume at DXB with 840,000 passengers. The busiest day is predicted to be July 13, when 286,000 travellers are anticipated. The airport accommodates about 274,000 passengers per day on average during peak hours.
