Airlifts to facilitate the dispatch of relief aid to support people affected in flood-devastated eastern Libya

His Majesty Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has authorised airlifts to help the International Humanitarian City (IHC) deliver relief supplies to those in need in flood-devastated eastern Libya.

Tuesday saw IHC send a second plane to the Libyan city of Benghazi to deliver about 100 tonnes of supplies from the UN Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD), the World Food Programme's Fast IT and Telecommunications Emergency and Support Team (FITTEST), and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) stockpiles.
