Air India Express and AirAsia India unveiled a common branding as ‘Air India Express’, on a new Boeing 737 –8 aircraft

On a new Boeing 737–8 aircraft on Wednesday, Air India Express and AirAsia India, two companies of the Tata-owned Air India, introduced a single branding as "Air India Express." Express Orange and Express Turquoise make up the primary colour scheme of the new visual identity, with Express Tangerine and Express Ice Blue serving as supporting hues, the airline stated.

"The predominant orange colour represents the concept of traditional Indian warmth while also symbolising the brand characteristics of Air India Express, which include zeal and agility. Additionally, the airline stated that the turquoise "embodies the brand personality traits of style with a contemporary premium sensibility and a digital-first approach."

"We are seeing the transformation of the aviation landscape as well," stated Campbell Wilson, Chairman of Air India Express, "as the merger of Air India Express and Air Asia India approaches its final stages." We are pleased to introduce the new Air India Express brand, a key component of the new Air India Group. Its mission is to become the airline of a new generation by offering every Indian the greatest possible value, accessibility, and domestic and regional connectivity. Improving India's and Indians' connections to the world, one another, and each other is the overarching goal of these initiatives.

"The integrated Air India Express-AirAsia India entity will operate as Air India Express, with a modern, refreshed branding, positioned as 'New India's Smart Connector,'" stated Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express. Our aggressive expansion and transformation path has entered a new chapter with the rebranding, which coincides with the introduction of the contemporary, fuel-efficient Boeing 737–8 aircraft. We will quickly double in size with the addition of 50 aircraft to the fleet over the course of the next 15 months. We want to expand to a fleet of around 170 narrow-body aircraft over the next five years, with a network that serves short-haul foreign markets as well as home markets in India. In keeping with our own custom, the aircraft livery, entitled "The patterns of India," will include a changing tailfin design influenced by the nation's rich artistic and craft legacy.

Inspired by the Bandhani weaving motif, the first new Boeing 737-8 aircraft displayed at the unveiling has this livery. The next aircraft to be entered will showcase India's creative richness with designs influenced by various traditional patterns such as Ajrakh, Patola, Kanjeevaram, Kalamkari, etc.
