NewsThrough the Afseh app, citizens and tourists to the UAE who are travelling with more than Dh60,000 worth of cash, gold, jewels, diamonds, or other valuables may report it to the authorities. Any traveller entering or exiting the United Arab Emirates with more than Dh60,000, or an equal amount in any other currency, financial assets, precious metals, or stones, is required to disclose the amount to the customs authorities. This covers all citizens and guests travelling through land borders, ports, and airports to enter and depart the nation.
The United Arab Emirates has made the decision to disclose any assets and cash above Dh60,000 as part of its efforts to prevent money laundering. Every adult family member is allowed to travel with up to Dh60,000 or its equivalent in foreign money without having to reveal the amount to customs officials.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) created the Afseh app. Residents and nationalities must disclose the quantity or value of cash and valuables, as well as submit data through a six-step process. People can change the value later if it changes when they are entering or leaving the nation because this information is editable.
