ADAFSA has begun placing ‘Zadna Rating’ labels on the exteriors of 6,900 food establishments across the emirate

'Zadna Rating' labels have started appearing on the exteriors of 6,900 restaurants around the emirate, thanks to the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA). By scanning the QR code written on the label, these stickers make it easier for the public to get assessments of the food safety levels at enterprises. Through Zadna Rating, the general public has access to assessments of restaurants based on how well they adhere to food safety regulations.

For establishments, the ADAFSA has established compliance levels that range from "excellent" and "very good" through "good" and "needs improvement." The evaluation criteria for food businesses take into account a number of factors, including the establishment's layout and construction, its equipment and waste-disposal capabilities, the cleanliness of its employees who handle food, its spaces for temperature control and food handling, as well as its food safety management systems, records, and paperwork.

The main goal is to set high standards, improve local well-being, and showcase Abu Dhabi as a prestigious tourism destination. 6,900 food facilities, including cafés, bakeries, and catering businesses, will be covered by the installation labels. It's anticipated that everything will be done by the end of August.

All citizens, visitors, and tourists to Abu Dhabi now have access to the Zadna Rating initiative's electronic portal, which allows them to examine the compliance ratings of food outlets. It strives to enhance their dining experience in the emirate's eateries, cafés, and bakeries. You may read the reviews posted on the front of food places, download the specialised app, or go directly to the electronic application to access the platform.

The establishment's involvement in the Sehhi initiative of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre is also evaluated separately. These actions are intended to increase the Emirate of Abu Dhabi's efforts to supply the general public with nutritious food that is safe to eat, as well as to inspire and motivate restaurants to upgrade their operations and elevate the level of food safety in the Emirate.

Additionally, the implementation of Zadna Rating encourages openness in the presentation of inspection findings, builds customer trust in the Authority's control systems, and motivates food enterprises to pursue excellence. These beneficial changes help to create a more adaptable and creative environment for economic activity.

The Zadna Rating for eateries, coffee shops, bakeries, and catering businesses is made up of two independent assessments that were combined to create one comprehensive rating of the food outlet, providing an in-depth evaluation of each facility. The first review looks at the degree of food safety based on the outcomes of routine visits planned as part of the ADAFSA's yearly inspection plan, as well as the degree of adherence to the emirate of Abu Dhabi's food safety rules and regulations.
