As originally stated in October of last year, the airport in Abu Dhabi would be known as Zayed International Airport as of February 9. The airport serving the nation's capital was named the top airport operator in the world at the recent World Travel Awards. In 2023, it will open Terminal A.
Covering 742,000 square metres, Terminal A—dubbed the Midfield Terminal during construction—can accommodate up to 11,000 passengers per hour or an astounding 45 million people annually. At any given moment, Terminal A can handle 79 aircraft. Within, there are 163 dining and drinking establishments in addition to retail spaces. Tom Cruise was among the first to arrive by plane when it opened the previous year.
Travellers may enjoy a variety of activities at Abu Dhabi airport from Friday, February 9 to Sunday, February 11, in honour of the renaming. This covers duty-free savings and exclusive deals at their eateries, boutiques, and coffee shops. Look out for carefully planned personal freebies, live performances by international musicians, and many other exciting surprises if you're flying into the Abu Dhabi airport.
