Motorists are advised by Abu Dhabi Police that the emirate has activated a new radar system.
Autonomously, this system keeps an eye out for drivers who purposefully enter the road ahead of other vehicles and overtake in front of the triangle intersection.
EXIT-I radar is a device designed to notify locals about the significance of following traffic laws when driving, according to the authorities. Increasing awareness of the importance of entering designated areas and providing priority to cars is another goal.
It further said that improving traffic safety is the goal of the cameras, not gathering infractions.
