Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival termed the ‘largest celebration of Arab poetry’ will showcase Nabati and classical Arabic poetry

The Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival will include over 1,000 poets and will feature a variety of styles such as Nabati and traditional Arabic poetry. The event, dubbed the "largest celebration of Arab poetry," will be hosted by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The four-day event, hosted by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee — Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Emirates Heritage Club, will begin on Thursday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee — Abu Dhabi, emphasised that the Capital is internationally acknowledged as a nourishing atmosphere for poetry, creativity, and talent. The event will include a number of pavilions and platforms. There will be a pavilion devoted to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's poetry, as well as another for Emirati poetry. The Poetic Trail platform, on the other hand, is intended to shed light on the many stages and history of Arab poetry.

Al Mazrouei stated that the event will feature both Nabati and traditional genres of Arabic poetry. The festival's four days will serve as a forum for poets, authors, and literary luminaries to meet, communicate, and explore various poetic genres in an immersive and dynamic atmosphere. It will provide a platform for young poets and authors to present their work, meet experienced poets from across the world, learn about the significance of research in poetry, and become acquainted with new genres.

In addition, the Million's Poet Show's final auditions for Nabati vernacular poetry will be place. There will also be an Abu Dhabi Poetry Conference, with sessions concentrating on critical and scholarly research, as well as Arabic poetry genres. Several cultural seminars and poetry nights will be held, with poets from several Arab nations participating. There will be a book signing zone where writers may meet and connect with readers while signing their new books, as well as a unique pavilion for youngsters to experience the beauty and resonance of poetry.
