Its recent feat of being named the world's safest place to live in is now enhanced by this latest honor. Having completed transactions worth an incredible US$ 1.7 trillion, the emirate currently holds the top spot in the most recent Global SWF list. With Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) managing an astounding US$ 1.7 trillion as of October 2024, Abu Dhabi has been crowned the wealthiest city in the world by Global SWF, which revealed its most recent rating this week.
Assets from significant participants including ADIA, Mubadala, ADIC, ADQ, Lunate, ADFD, Tawazun, and EIA are included in this figure.
Abu Dhabi has carefully built a strong portfolio of institutional investors over many years. Major asset owners reside in the emirate, including Public Pension Funds (PPFs), Central Banks (CBs), and Royal Private Offices (RPOs) associated with the royal family. With plans to increase to US$ 3.4 trillion by 2030, Abu Dhabi's total public capital now stands at US$ 2.3 trillion.
