Abu Dhabi Civil Defence reminds it is mandatory for every building in the country to have firefighting equipment installed

Strict regulations are in place In the UAE to guarantee fire safety and breaking them can cost heavy fines. The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence reminded locals on Tuesday that firefighting supplies must always be freely accessible. Every structure in the nation is required to have firefighting supplies installed, including extinguishers, alarms, and functional exits.

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence emphasised in its notice that in addition to being available, these tools must also be accessible. It said that a major infraction is the "presence of obstacles that hinder access to firefighting devices and equipment within a building". It further said that this carries a Dh2,000 fine.

Authorities in the emirate extinguished a fire that started in a structure earlier in the day. No injuries were recorded, and residents were quickly evacuated. An inquiry is underway to ascertain the origin of the fire.
