A road improvement project extending from Al Khail Street intersection to the Cyclists Club will reduce peak-hour traffic time on Al Meydan

The peak-hour traffic on Al Meydan Street in Dubai will take one minute instead of eight on account of the road improvement project. According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), 85% of the project is currently finished.

The project reaches the Cyclists Club from the junction of Al Khail Street. The work included extending the Al Quoz roundabout into an extended roadway along the route, increasing the street from two to three lanes, and replacing the Al Meydan Roundabout with a T-shaped signalised surface intersection.

In the Al Meydan neighbourhood, the RTA created a tunnel with bike lanes that can hold about 800 bikes per hour. Bicyclist wait times have decreased as a result of the cycling track's surface junction being converted into a tunnel.
