In Sharjah, a brand-new medical area will soon be built, equipped with services for women's healthcare, lifestyle, and preventative medicine.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah gave his approval on Thursday to a historic initiative that would build an integrated network of healthcare services in the emirate.
The medical district known as Jawaher Boston Medical District would include medical facilities including hospitals and labs and centres for research and development. It would be situated near Sharjah Mosque on Emirates Bypass Road.
This initiative, a ground-breaking partnership between Beeah Group, Mass General Brigham Hospitals Network, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, is anticipated to strengthen Sharjah's healthcare industry by bringing in more integrated services and knowledge from around the world. It was approved in the presence of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the wife of Sheikh Sultan and the chairperson of the Beeah Group Board of Directors, at a reception held at Badi' Palace for the representatives of collaborating organisations.
A variety of specialisations will be housed in the area, including cancer, women's health, paediatrics, cardiovascular diseases, neurosciences, mental health, and rehabilitation medicine. The Jawaher Boston Medical District is anticipated to provide a substantial contribution to studies and research in the field of malignant diseases.
