A new learning institution for childhood development shall be established under a new law in Abu Dhabi

A new rule requires Abu Dhabi to build a new educational facility for young children. The law to set up the National Academy for Childhood Development has been issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, as part of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority. The school seeks to provide education, training, and lifelong learning opportunities in areas like child development, childcare, and childhood issues while upholding UAE values and national identity. In accordance with the relevant laws and working with the authorised authorities, it also aims to give its students the right academic and training environment so they may advance their knowledge and abilities in a variety of child development-related fields.

According to the law, part of its duty is to create a renowned academic and training system by creating educational and training programmes about children's issues, child development, and care that are in line with Abu Dhabi's strategic plan for the social sector.

The academy will award academic certifications and degrees and offer advice, information, and other related services, according to the relevant regulations. For its inaugural study programmes starting in the next academic year in September 2023, the National Academy for Childhood Development in Abu Dhabi will start taking registrations this month (June).

In accordance with the legislation, the academy will also arrange and participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as undertake academic and practical research related to its area of responsibility. The academy will create and establish partnerships, sign contracts and memorandums of understanding with pertinent entities, and engage in collaboration and knowledge-sharing activities in consultation with the appropriate authorities. In order to create hiring and employment procedures and ease student employment, it will collaborate with the relevant authorities.

In addition to promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in projects and activities connected to its mandate, the academy will give suggestions on the development of pertinent academic and training courses available in the UAE.
