A key figure in the emirate's healthcare sector, Dr Muna Tahlak becomes the first Arab woman to be elected president of the IHF

Dr. Muna Tahlak became the first Arab woman to be elected president of the International Hospital Federation (IHF). She is an Emirati physician and a prominent healthcare figure in Dubai, significant player in the emirate's healthcare industry, holding many high positions. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, was one of the first to congratulate her on her new role in a reputable international institution.

We applaud Dr. Muna for her significant contributions to the medical community and wish her well in her future endeavours, according to Sheikh Hamdan.

In addition to serving as CEO of the Latifa Hospital for Women and Children, Dr. Tahlak is vice-provost for clinical practise at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and chief medical officer of Dubai Academic Health Corporation (DAHC).

Regarding global healthcare, Dr. Tahlak's election represents a significant turning point for the UAE. As the first Arab woman and Emirati to occupy such a prestigious job, the achievement highlights the nation's dedication to encouraging excellence in the healthcare industry and expanding women's participation in a variety of disciplines.
