A first-of-its-kind facility - Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi, is set to open its doors next year

A variety of flora and wildlife will coexist with more than 2,000 butterflies from over 40 species at Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi, a new development in the popular waterfront resort of Al Qana. It is slated to debut next year as the first of its kind facility in the nation's capital, situated close to the National Aquarium.  Visitors will have the opportunity to observe not only many types of butterflies and insects in their natural environment but also follow the live growth of pupa. The captivating starry nighttime scenery will be one of this facility's distinctive features.

The three different, well-manicured zones that make up the climate-controlled indoor project are Asia, the Americas, and Eden Cafe. Beautiful tropical gardens will be present, each one inspired by the distinct ecosystems of South America, Central America, and Asia. The Eden Cafe will include a koi pond, a waterfall, and white peacocks in addition to the amazing butterfly and bug species from these areas. Visitors will be able to have high tea with butterflies at the café.

The building will be made to inspire visitors of all ages to learn about various insect species, butterflies, and other vital pollinators like bees. The miniature honeybee will be one of the attractions. School field excursions will have access to the gardens. There are plans to add photography lessons as well. It is anticipated to begin construction in early 2024 and open the following year, with daily hours of operation being 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
