A calligraphic, handwritten Holy Quran weighing over thirty kilogrammes attracted attention at SIBF

At the 42nd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), a calligraphic, handwritten Holy Quran weighing over thirty kilogrammes is attracting attention. Jaleena says this was her way of honouring the most sacred text in Islam. She worked on the unique version for almost a year, covering 604 pages and all 114 surahs.

The book was exhibited in Hall 7 of the Sharjah Expo Centre where the 12-day festival was being held until November 12. The book has an entirely handmade cover, weighing 54 kg and measuring 28.5 x 22.5 x 4.5 inches in volume.
