News EventOn December 31, a spectacular fireworks show will light up the skies in Abu Dhabi, with the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba featuring 53 minutes of nonstop explosions. The festival's New Year's Eve will include spectacular fireworks and drone exhibitions spanning over an hour, as well as light and laser technology displays with the goal of establishing six new Guinness World Records.
The fireworks show will begin at 6 p.m. and will continue until midnight, with launches at the top of each hour. At 11:40 p.m., a 20-minute drone show comprising 6,000 drones will illuminate the Al Wathba sky, generating moving beautiful visuals.
Among them, 3,000 drones will make a design of the phrase "Happy New Year" in the sky to send good wishes for the new year.
The Emirates Fountain Stage will feature an amazing spectacle for guests, integrating innovative light and laser technology with 80 laser units to brighten the Al Wathba skyline. Meanwhile, more than 100,000 balloons will be released into the sky.
The gates to the Sheikh Zayed Festival on New Year's Eve will open at 2 p.m., and the committee has asked guests to reserve and purchase tickets in advance, emphasizing that no entry would be permitted after the arena reaches capacity.
Large large screens outside the event grounds will show the New Year's celebrations.
Traditional bands will perform beginning at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Village Square, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi pavilion, and other festival sites. These performances will include Al-Ayyala, Al-Razfa, and Al-Nadba dances, among other traditional arts, with 600 participants, as well as police band music.
Country pavilions will celebrate the New Year with carnival shows and folkloric performances on the festival grounds or in their own sections, as well as general entertainment and children's activities at the Kids' Stage and Amusement City.
