50 per cent discount on traffic fines announced by Umm Al Quwain Traffic Department

Drivers will receive a 50% reduction in traffic fines, the Umm Al Quwain Traffic Department announced Thursday.

The deal is valid from December 1, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

The offer was made in honor of the 53rd UAE National Day, according to Umm Al Quwain Police.

In order to offer drivers an opportunity to renew their registration and pay the accumulated fines, police said they decided to cut the charges by 50%. The ruling includes the removal of recorded traffic points and vehicle impoundments, with the exception of major infractions.

Police encouraged all involved drivers to update their vehicle registrations and take advantage of this grace period.

All traffic fines prior to December 1, 2024, are eligible for the discount.

Owners of automobiles registered in other emirates are also included in the ruling. The officer explained that only traffic infractions committed within the emirate are subject to the grace period.
