360 vehicles, including electric and hybrid variants, to be deployed for use in Dubai's key conferences and events

In a three-year collaboration agreement, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Al Futtaim Automotive will deploy 360 cars, including electric and hybrid models, for use at Dubai's major conferences and events. The deal was inked in Barcelona, outside of the UITP Global Public Transport Summit.

Al Futtaim Automotive will provide 100 hybrid cars, 250 electric vehicles, and 10 electric buses as part of the three-year collaboration deal. Ten electric charging devices with direct and alternating current capabilities will also be available.

BYD ATTO3:

The SUV offers adequate storage for both passengers' belongings and their bags. The car has seven airbags and advanced safety features including lane-keeping assistance, blind spot monitoring, front and rear collision alarms, and a 420km range.

BYD HAN:

The 521km-range electric vehicle variant has a 3.9-second 0 to 100km acceleration time. The "seven-dimensional quad-layer" safety matrix that powers the HAN provides the safest battery safety system in the world by maintaining its stability at extreme temperatures.

Polestar 2:

There are three variants of the electric car. Driving distances for each are 444 km, 542 km, and 482 km, respectively.

Electric buses:

These are Volvo vehicles equipped with cutting-edge technology. The user interface on these buses is simple, which helps the drivers manage their itineraries. The revolutionary passenger counting system on the smart bus makes use of cutting-edge sensors. Wheelchair users have a reserved space on the bus. They have touch displays that offer drivers real-time data on temperature, door status, battery consumption rate, and alarms and messages. They also include a unique geographic navigation system that tells the driver about the surroundings and if the road is safe for the bus. The buses include a monitoring system to keep tabs on the driver's health and identify signs of weariness. Alerts are communicated to the driver and recorded for further investigation.
