18-metre blue whale recycled sculpture rises in celebration of World Environment Day

The Green Planet, Dubai's first indoor tropical rainforest, is teaming up with GEMS Legacy School to welcome a magnificent 18-meter blue whale recycled sculpture to the biodome this month in honour of World Environment Day. The alliance, which aims to raise awareness about the effects of plastic waste on the environment, is consistent with The Green woWorld'sission to inform visitors about the origins of our world and the value of environmental protection.

The life-size blue whale recycled sculpture was made by students and staff at GEMS Legacy School (GLS) as part of the GEMS Global Ambassadors' Programme. It took more than 800 hours to construct and was made from more than 8,000 plastic bottles and 1,000 plastic bags. The magnificent piece of art, which is created completely of recyclable materials, acts as a potent symbol to emphasise the necessity of adopting sustainable practices and reducing waste.

Visitors to The Green Planet can be motivated to modify their consumption patterns by witnessing this extraordinary artwork, which is open for public viewing, and learning more about the effects of plastic waste. They get the exceptional chance to take special photos in front of the whale recycling sculpture, leaving enduring reminders of their dedication to preventing plastic pollution.
