17 year olds can apply for driving licenses after registering for permits from March 29

The UAE government issued a new federal decree law on traffic restrictions in October 2024. The law will take effect on March 29, 2025.

The UAE Government Media Office advised that the minimum age to get a license for cars and light vehicles has been reduced from 18 to 17.
