13th Sharjah Light Festival to be held from February 7 to 18, illuminating 12 iconic monuments

The 13th Sharjah Light Festival (SLF), beginning on February 7 and running through February 18, will feature illuminations of Sharjah's twelve most famous monuments. Throughout the course of 12 days at 12 significant places, the festival will showcase over 15 breathtaking light works that have been painstakingly created by over 15 international artists. Except on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, when the concerts go until midnight, the performances begin at 6 p.m. and run until 11 p.m.

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is putting on a major event that is expected to adorn the emirate's most recognisable cultural and natural monuments with captivating creative exhibits designed by internationally recognised artists.

Along with the newly added locations from this year's edition, there are Sharjah Mosque, Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi Mosque, Al Noor Mosque, Al Rafisah Dam, Khalid Lagoon, Al Majaz Waterfront, BEEAH Group Headquarters, Al Dhaid Fort, and the General Directorate of Sharjah Police.

To further enhance the attraction, starting on February 1, the Light Village in front of Sharjah's University City Hall building will include more than fifty small- and medium-sized national projects.

The SLF will celebrate Sharjah's rich history and legacy by transforming the façade of these iconic buildings into a bright tapestry of colours using the newest and most modern energy-efficient lighting technology.

The emirate's history, present, and future goals will be expressed through dynamic visual storytelling created by the interaction of light and music in these venues, which are already renowned for their breathtaking architecture. Using the global language of light to bring together many cultures and civilizations, this festival soothes the spirit and pleases the sight. It stands as a beacon of peace, tolerance, and variety.

With almost 1.3 million visitors, including 184,000 to the Light Village, the 12th edition of SLF saw a notable increase in public attendance and interest.
